Veronika's Weekly Vibes - Issue #10: Vlogging is back, but this time, no pressure

Create yourself.

Hi friends,

Remember when I asked if I should start a vlogging channel? Well... I DID. 🎥✨

And not just that—there are already two vlogs live on my new channel! 🥳

Why I Finally Started Vlogging (Again!)

If you've been following me for a while, you might know that I actually had a vlogging channel four years ago. But back then, I put so much pressure on myself to make vlogs that would grow my channel, bring in views, and make money. And let’s be real—unless you're already famous, vlogging alone is not the easiest way to grow on YouTube. So I stopped.

But lately, I’ve been craving a new way to document my life just for fun. I got this tiny DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (which I freaking LOVE), and I never really used it for my main channel. I realized that vlogging doesn’t have to be about numbers or strategy—it can just be about creating for the joy of it.

No pressure. No expectations. Just capturing life.

Not Everything Has to Be About Growth

Something I’ve been learning lately is that not everything has to be about growth, progress, or hitting the next milestone.

This applies to so many things in life.

  • Like with bouldering 🧗‍♀️—I started just for fun, but sometimes I catch myself thinking, I need to climb harder routes! But the truth is, the fun is in the process, not just the progress.
  • Or with content creation—where I used to see all my platforms as equally important and constantly felt like I had to juggle them all at once. But now, I'm working on prioritizing them in a way that feels good.

I now see my platforms as a vertical priority list instead of trying to balance everything on the same level:

  1. YouTube (Main Channel) – Always top priority.
  2. Instagram – Once my main videos are done.
  3. Newsletter – When I have updates to share.
  4. Vlogging Channel – My creative playground, my hobby.

This shift has made me feel so much less stressed and way more in tune with my energy. Not everything needs to be a career move—some things can just be for the joy of it.

Vlogging = More Freedom, More Playfulness

Vlogging has also helped me let go of perfectionism. On my main channel, I plan my videos, research my topics, script everything… and sometimes, it makes me feel too controlled while filming.

But with vlogging? No script. No perfection. Just life.

  • If I babble? That’s fine.
  • If my apartment is messy? Totally okay.
  • If my skin isn’t perfect? Who cares!

And the best part? It’s making me more confident on my main channel too. I’m embracing a more relaxed, authentic style of filming, and it’s honestly so freeing.

Overcoming My Fear of Vlogging in Public

A few years ago, I felt so awkward recording myself in public. I worried about people staring or judging me. But now?

  • More people understand social media and personal branding.
  • Businesses are using social media to grow.
  • It’s actually normal to see people filming themselves in public!

Also, let’s talk about gear.

Back then, I had this huge, bulky camera with an even bigger microphone. It was impossible to be discreet. Now? My DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and tiny mic make vlogging so much easier. I get high-quality footage without carrying a giant setup.

So… Are You Watching?

I don’t have a “strategy” for my vlogging channel. I don’t have a plan for monetization. I just want to document life, share my thoughts, and have fun.

If that sounds like something you’d love, go watch my first two vlogs & let me know what you think!
